Awards and Badges of the Young
Vikings:
There are nine Ranks in the Young
Vikings indicating the level of
accomplishment within the club. A
badge is available for purchase for
each rank attained. Badges may be
sewn onto shirts or a favorite
backpack, however, we suggest
finding or creating a banner on which
to collect your awards. Badges and
Awards will be sold only to the Young
Vikings that have earned the right to
have them! Check out the Rising
Ranks Poster for details on the Skill
Family level requirements for each
rank. Earn and collect them all!

Other Awards of the Young Vikings:
In addition to rising up the ranks, Young Vikings may earn other awards. Families, Kindreds or other Ásatrú
Organizations may wish to offer awards of their own for things such as perfect attendance to gatherings, Young
Viking meetings, etc. Currently the club only offers badges for the nine Ranks. Additional badges and awards will
be added. Future awards to be offered by the Viking Council are:

Jarl Rognvald’s Award – Winners of this
award have earned at least one level in every
Task Family. Well roundedness in diverse
criteria was the hallmark of this great
warrior.
Warder of the Goddess – Winners of this
award have organized a trash cleanup
resulting in community participation and
effort. The dream of one Young Viking made
real in the actions of many.
Order of the Northern Raven – Winners of
this skaldic award must perform their craft
in front of a group of 75+ people. The craft
must be ‘solo’ and not simultaneously
performed with others such as in a band. The
applause of the audience will dictate whether
or not the Young Viking has passed this
ordeal. Performance is the true test of
poets and musicians. Courage in the face of
many is something most adults never
overcome.
Badge of the Wayfarer – Winners of this
award have earned over combined 50 levels in
the Goat and Bear Task Families. They have
also completed at least one adventure outing
worthy of tale and renown. This is honor to
be given to only the most dedicated back
country explorers.
Banner of Frey – Winners of this
Agricultural award have earned over 9 levels
in the Stallion Task Family. These Young
Vikings could feed a community with the skills
they have learned!
Wings of the Eagle – All-Father himself
used this shape to fly the 9 Worlds. These
brown wings can flank your Young Vikings rank
badge. Wings of the Eagle are earned after
gaining 20 combined levels.
Wings of the Valkyrie - These deadly,
beautiful warriors shed their wings from
time to time. Let these white wings flank
your Young Vikings rank badge. Wings of the
Valkyrie are earned after gaining 40
combined levels.
Wings of the Raven - The Ravens Hugin &
Munin fly o’er the Worlds and report back
what they have spied to Odin. These Black
wings can flank your Young Vikings rank
badge. Wings of the Raven are earned after
gaining 60 combined levels.

metal wings so he could exact his revenge.
These Metallic wings can flank your Young
