Genealogy Project Challenge, Young Vikings earn +1 level for creating a family tree of ancestors using paper
circles, a marker and string to connect them. See how far you can go back. The Eldest Ancestors are our
Gods and Goddesses. Make sure they include a circle for themselves. Young Vikings may earn this award only
once.
Elder InterviewChallenge, Young Vikings earn +1 level for interviewing an Elder of their family or community.
Start by creating a list of 5 – 10 questions then let them do the talking. Record your interview and write
down as much information as you can. Ask them for advice. Make sure you have their permission to record and
share your findings. Have an adult help you pick out the heathen values shared by your Elder. You will find
many of the elders have a very “Havamal-esque” way of looking at things, despite their religious affiliations.
Young Vikings may earn this Award only once.
Respecting Elders Challenge, Young Vikings earn +1 level for providing service to an Elder of their family or
community. Yard work, grocery shopping, etc. are just a few ideas. If they insist on payment try to politely
refuse it. You will most likely loose that argument though as Elders know how to get their way in such things.
Young Vikings may earn this Award only once.
