Myth Challenge: Young Vikings earn +1 level for reading a Norse Myths book to a parent. The selection should
be age appropriate for the child and ideally should only be accomplished in several segments. If the child is
very young, you may take turns reading. Young Vikings may earn this level once per year for up to 3 years. The
next progressive book of Norse Myths should be slightly more challenging than the first, etc.
Saga Challenge I, Young Vikings earn +1 level for reading one of the shorter Icelandic Sagas such as Hrafnkel
Priest of Frey, Thorstein Staff-struck, etc. Remember to ask questions thorough out their progress. This
increases their interest and adds to understanding and memory. Young Vikings may earn this level once per
year for up to 3 years.
Saga Challenge II, Young Vikings earn +1 level for reading one of the longer Icelandic Sagas such as Egil’s
Saga, Grettir’s Saga, etc. Remember to ask questions thorough out their progress. This increases their
interest and adds to understanding and memory. Young Vikings may earn this level once per year for up to 3
years.
