rabbits or turkeys) or other agricultural use (such as laying hens).  Animal rearing is not a task for the light
hearted and a good book written by qualified professionals regarding your animal of choice is a must.  Not
everyone will have space or permission from local authorities to raise livestock.  In lieu of raising an animal,
the Young Viking may volunteer at an existing farm and assist with labor and care of livestock for 40 hours.
Young Vikings may earn this level only once.

things look easy on paper but in actuality are much harder to perform.  Young Vikings may earn this level only
once.

Livestock III Challenge,  Young Vikings may earn +1 level for raising a medium or large animal for consumption
(such as sheep or cattle) or other agricultural use (such as horses).  This Challenge is separated from
Livestock II because it also requires that you keep the animal throughout the cycle of the flock or herd from
birth to birthing.  This means you will be managing the flock or herd for over one year and begin again by
raising the offspring.  Animal rearing is not a task for the light hearted and several good books and sources of
information written by qualified professionals regarding your animal of choice is a must.  It is very helpful to
personally know an expert in this field.  Certain things look easy on paper but in actuality are much harder to
